The Start of an Adventure (in the works)
Greetings and salutations! I hope friends and family have found this blog easily and will utilize it to track the progress of Elena and I’s (Garrison’s) unpredictable journey. This blog will be a tool for stories, photos, words of inspiration, and updates throughout our travels south of the border. It will be a tool for readers as well for feedback, support, and inspiration. During our blogging, I (Garrison) will be writing in bold lettering, while Elena’s commentary will be in standard text. This is in no way a demonstration of dominance on my part, just the way we decided to differentiate our stories. Please comment on our stories, pass this website around to those who might find it of interest, and let us know what you think! We would like to extend a warm thank you to all who have supported us and simply stood behind us while we planned this hairbrained trip. Your love and encouragement does not go unnoticed. We will make a constant (as possible) effort to post on this site, send snail-mail, and call from pay phones as much as possible to share our once-in-a-lifetime experiences with you. Thanks again, we love all of you very much!
Cheers,
Garrison
From the bottom of my heart, I want to express to everyone how very grateful I am to have your support. It is an amazing feeling to leave for this trip with such a sense of ease and comfort! I would not have wanted it any other way. We are about to leave for the airport; our bags are packed, our stomachs are full, and we are very ready to take that sigh of relief as we walk through security. I will admit, having Garrison by my side has made planning for this much easier. We have planned to do things I would never have done by myself; I am so ecstatic! So ahead of us right now is a flight of hopefully no more than six hours, a 3.5 hour bus ride, and then a relaxing three days on the beach before we head to the farm to get our hands dirty. I think those three days at the beach will be nothing less than replenishing. I am a homebody at heart, so for me, updating this blog will be my way of connecting with home. I am going to miss everyone so so much, but I know I am going to come back loving you even more. So, without even a flight back home, we’re off. Keep thinking about us and know that we are thinking of you constantly. Our homes have made us who we are, and now we are adding to that. We’re taking you with us.
Love you all,
Elena
