Gone Till December

Could write a haiku
But I don't know how many
Syllables to use.

brain itches Theme by Adam Holwerda.

So one of the funniest things we have encountered here are hot dogs. Yes, we bought them. And yes, they remind us of home. But also, the hilarious part is, they are all individually wrapped! Who would have guessed! We have a lot of free time together, so you see why this has been so entertaining. The farming is going great. Besides some homesick syptoms, we have been learning a lot. We planted some corn and sweet potatoes today. It has been hard work, yet very rewarding. Also, there are three puppies to play with! They have been perfect, just the little pick-me-ups that we need. The sun sets around 6, so we spend the evenings playing checkers, scrabble, or our many card games. Also, we have been sweating. All the time. Constantly. It feels good, but jeeez, it´s hot here! My favorite part about the trip so far has been the mosquito net above the bed. It feels safe and we have fashioned a little head lamp for some ambiance. Garrison has been amazing support for me, I don´t think I could be doing this without him. We rode the bus into town today for some refreshing internet usage, and had lunch at a local cafe. We met a man from FL and he gave us some local tips. It is always so nice to run into someone who speaks English, just a touch of home. I hope all is well at home, I miss all of you terribly. You are in my thoughts constantly.

For now,

Elena
