Could write a haiku

Syllables to use.

A Day in the Life…

So yesterday we broke ground for a pond. A pond, you say? A pond! Quite the idea, but we´re going through with it! It will be used to help with irrigation, and they will also experiment with some water plants. After the digging and sweating and digging and sweating, we harvested potatoes! It is always a delight to see the look on Garrison´s face. Having his novice (yet very impressive!) gardening skills, his enthusiam really keeps me going. He was a little kid again, looking for his gold at the bottom of the hole. Other tasks have included raking up after the hired hands. They come in with their shiny machetes and chop the yard down. (We are very jealous of their machetes). Luckily, afterwards we get to clean it all up! Frank calls it ¨moving nutrients¨. My favorite job so far has been hunting for bananas. As you can imagine, the banana trees are EVERYWHERE! We go looking in the woods for the ones that are ready or have already fallen on the ground. It is largely hilarious to drag the rickety wheelbarrel around the woods with loads and loads of fresh bananas. The best bananas I have ever tasted, by the way! This weekend we get a little change of pace; we are going to hike the tallest peak in Costa Rica! Hopefully our legs can handle the trek. We will sleep one night at the base, one night at the summit, and another at the base to relax afterwards. I can´t wait for some mountaintop views from the hostel! I remind myself daily of how lucky we are to get to be on this adventure together. We miss all of you and would love to hear how you are as well!
